New Years Celebration and X-mass Wrap-up

Happy New Years Eve one and all, as you may have guessed I was busy the past week to update (or keep my planed update schedule).  I have escaped the back woods and returned to the big city, but not with out some bumps and bruises mind you.  Christmas was uneventful for me and I’m once again reminded why I don’t have kids. But I will save kids and parenting for a rant day.
I returned this past Saturday and promptly went out the next day.  Taking my new Christmas gear out for a stroll my man and I went out to lunch at Brave Horse Tavern.  I loved the décor and immediately thought that my mom would feel right at home here.  We sat at the bar ordered a couple of drinks and relaxed with fresh backed pretzels and three different condiments.  The first one was a peanut butter and bacon, the second was a cheddar cheese with spices, and the last one was sour cream and onion.  We also had some burgers but I wouldn’t go back for them; they were tasty but for the price it isn’t worth it and you have to order fries separately.
Later that night we went to the Uptown Theater to see Les Miserables that came out a week ago.  My man has seen the musical stage version numerous times but this was the first time that he realized that the story was about Jean Valjean.  The film was decent, what you would expect from a musical, but I don’t know why they cast Russell Crowe.  The man has zero vocal range, his pitch as off half the time and he acted like he is only doing this for a paycheck.  But like I said I overall enjoyed the film and a majority of the cast.
Well have a good and safe New Years to everyone and I will be updating on Wednesday with a review on Hue lighting system to kick off my new segment on game/nerd themed parties.

See you on the other side.

Weekend Bliss and Postponed Holiday Updates.

This past weekend was my seven year anniversary with my man.  How did we spend it you may ask?  Well Friday morning I scratched my eye, I hope, and come Saturday it felt so bad that I was bed ridden.  Better yet my man had a bad sore throat Saturday night and into our day Sunday.  Yet we got up and went out to the world to go buy our dinner for that night, rack of lamb with roosted potatoes and sautéed green beans.  It was delicious if I do say so myself.  Oh and I bought a pear tart at Le Panier, so good!

To top off our evening we sat on the couch watching old episodes of Cheers and being sick.  Well the story of our love.  Two old souls waiting for each other to die.  That is not morbid just our saying for our relationship, it’s just a joke I swear.  We have been saying it for 3 years!

Well it is Christmas week, and I’m heading back going back to my parents homestead, so no up dates for the remainder of the week.  But I will be back next week with my week in hell, by that I mean my time with my sister.

Have a great Holiday!

End of the World introductions to myself

Just incase you didn’t read about me column, you know on the right side there… kind of hard to miss… ah screw it.   Well it is I, Schadenfreude Girl or Schad Girl for short; I picked the name Schadenfreude because it is one of my favorite words.  I mean “to take pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others” and really who hasn’t taken some enjoyment out of someone’s misfortunes at one point or another in one’s life?

Well in this blog we are going on a journey, nay, an adventure of my life of living in the city, job finding, and what ever extracurricular activities that I plan on doing this year.  I am hoping that this blog will inspire me to be more productive in my creativity and overall performance as a person.  I’m not trying to change the word just myself.

I have always wanted to live in a city, and as of right now I will not disclose my location.  A majority of my life I have lived out in the middle of the woods out in shit nowhere.  It wasn’t until I meet my boyfriend of 7 years, he shall be know as my man, that I moved out of shit nowhere and into the outskirts of city life.  The out skirts of the city differ greatly from the actual city.  You still have to drive everywhere to get anything and the culture isn’t up to par, ok that is being too nice, it is a struggling culture that I can not identify myself with.  For some people they love country life or suburbia or even the scratching post of the city, but not I.

So my man and I saved up money and moved smack dab into downtown living.  It has been nearly a month of living in our loft apartment and I don’t ever want to leave I plan on writing every day but lets get real for a second and try to have something out every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday..  I guess it is the end of the world today so let’s make it count!

            Peace Bitches!
