I'm Back,Bots!

Wheee, so I've been gone for quite some time. Almost a month if I remember correctly. Off the bat, so sorry to all my little bots that still follow me. But if you have followed me on Tumblr, Twitter, or Instagram you would have seen all my progress photos of that damn Ivy costume plus some more awesom things.

What other awesome thing you might ask? Well for starters I hacked off all my hair.

Yup, I was sick of the dead/split ends and weight of the hair when I washed it. Truth be told I told no one and I wasn’t originally going to be this short. Ah fuck it. Hair grows.

This past month I was finishing up the trailer for the documentary i'm going to be working on this May. That is all finished up, had a few tweaks but over all it turned out great. You can watch the trailer here:

For a majority of the past 2 weeks before Emerald City Comic Con I was working on that damn Ivy costume. It took for ever to sew every leaf by hand onto the body suit and hand stitch the embroidery as well. The night before I went I was stitching on the embroidery to the suite. To be honest, I'm not 100% happy with the costume. There were some more embroidery that need to be done and added, as well as add more pizazz to the bustle as well. But for a first showing it was ok. For the pictures I saw I see that I really need to lose weight. Hot damn, those thunder thighs. But it was good to see my self in that light and to motivate myself to losing weight again.

So I premiered Poison Ivy on Saturday, here are some of the pictures and you can view the full album of un-edited pictures on my flicker site here: Poison Ivy

The amazing Mikozilla in her fem Varric

My man bought a back up costume for me just incase I couldn’t get together. It was a Harley Quinn from Arkham City. I had a lot of fun with this costume, might make a better one for Pax Prime if I have time. Here are some pics of her and a link to the flicker album: Harley Quinn

The low points of the con were:
  • saying goodbye to my friend Katie who is moving down to California for school
  • almost being hit by a car while crossing in the cross walk with it was green.
  • Having the most shittiest waitress in all the land at the Hard Rock Cafe, it was so bad we didn’t even leave her a tip. We never do that but when you ignore us for the entire time we are there and give my boyfriend an attitude when as for the check, you don’t deserve one bitch.
Last week was con recovery, and getting my man ready to go over to London on a business trip for a whole week. I'm sad he is gone this week but I'm more upset at myself for not going over there. * sigh* I guess this means I just have to save up money for the next couple of years so I can go over and have a kick ass time in England... maybe try to attend London Comic Con while I'm there as well...

This week I'm hanging with the cats, trying to find a part time job, and try not to go crazy while my man is away in London.

Future Cosplay For 2015

The heat is almost gone from my apartment and that means my brain function is going to start working normally again!   Sorry for the lack of updates, last week was full of shopping and helping my mom out at the house.  Needless to say I'm on the prowl for more work/part time job.  the part time job would feed my new addiction of cosplay making and convention impulse buying.   I don't have any plans on attending anymore conventions this year, but  that also means that I need to shape up my body for my next planed costumes.

What costumes you may ask, well for ECCC next year I'm planing on doing another DC Bombshell from one of my favorite artist Ant Lucia: Supper Girl!
I just love this outfit, those boots!  I'm dying.

The one I have planed is for RTX 2015.  It's Fem Sun from RWBY.
By Verdantos Grenice
Sun is one of my favorites from this series, and he has shotgun nunchucks!
Got to start working on my abs.

Other than that, my man and I have been losing sleep over his works new changes in security towards vendors and what it means to his team.  What may end up happening is after working 18 months you are forced to take a 6 month break!  That would ruin his team and a majority of people who would be forced to take a break would find employment else where.  Everyone is scrambling for a solution and now it is a wait and see what happens.  Worst case scenario he finds another job in 18 months.

Changing the the subject to a more happier tune, Have you been watching the new Sailor Moon Crystal series?!  All the feels of childhood is rushing back to me when I watch it.  If you haven't seen it, what is wrong with you, go get your butt to Hulu and watch it!  To hold you over here is the full opening credits song by Momoiro Clover Z.

Although I prefer the opening song of Attack on Titian for the opening credits....

Have a good week little bots, see you Friday for something...

Long week of Socializing and Costumes

I’m still recovering from all the festivities from last week and this past weekend.  So much to tell you about so let’s begin shall we…

I returned back home on Tuesday with out my man’s knowledge and left the house before he returned home.  Now why did I leave the apartment before letting him know that I have returned?  Well I wanted to surprise him and I have a networking event that started before he got back.  The event was Show Your Shorts presented by Team Awesome and Leftjet Studios.  I ran into some old connections and a bunch of new ones.  It was a great little event where you can network and watch a bunch of short films as well.  The up side to all of this I might have a possible have some work coming my way because of this.  Meet a couple of directors who were interested in working with me on a couple of their projects… go me!  If you want to check out more info on Show Your Shorts click here: Show Your Shorts.
When I returned home, I surprised my man who was sitting half naked on the couch playing video games.  I love him, he is so adorable.

The next evening I went to my usual last Wednesday Film and music happy hour networking event.  I was a tad disappointed in the event due to it being more focused on music side for this month.  The guest speaker was a hip hop artist who was going to talk about how to expose yourself to more people via social media.  Their were so few people on the film side I left after talking to four people.  I will still attend this networking event but I think I might be more selective on when to go depending on the guest speaker for that event.

Thursday my man and I attended Carol Corps party thanks to our good friends at Comic Book Characters for Causes.  You can read more about my experience at the event and thought on it here: Bitchin’ Friday: How To Pull Off An Event

Friday was me rushing to polish and finish my costume for Emerald City Comic Con for Saturday and Sunday.  I didn’t want to be rushing and running late due to me being under prepared and trying to put my costumes on.  Oh and during this I was rapidly sending emails to back and fourth to a couple of directors and producers.  Still fingers crossed on something magical happing to my career.

Saturday was the big event: Comic Con!  Even though it was day 2 their were a ton of people and so many cosplayers running about.  I dressed up as Rock Star wonder Woman from Charles Holbert’s drawing.  Not many people took my picture but that’s ok, I was their to scope out items to buy for tomorrow and to hang out with my friends.  Here are a few picture of me in this costume:

Sunday I went as Bombshell Wonder Woman created by the wonderful and talented Ant Lucia.  I was stopped often for pictures and was even called “sexy” by a stranger.  The two biggest highlight were being hailed down the hall by the sweetest cosplayer Apotheosis Cosplay to come take pictures with her in her steam punk Wonder Woman out fit.  We gushed over each others outfits and posed for several pictures. She is such a sweet lady and you should check out her website for more info about her: http://apotheosiscosplay.storenvy.com/
The second biggest was meeting Ant Lucia in my costume.  I thought he might not like it but he got so excited he took a picture with me and his brother took a picture of me as well.  I’m a little sad that I don’t have a picture of me and him together but I did buy a couple of his art posters and now I just need to go hang them up on my wall somewhere.  I was so giddy you have no idea, check out more of his art on his web site here: Ant Lucia

Over all the Con was great, got to meet a ton of my friends and hang out, spent a bit more than I would like but when in Rome.  Below are a few pictures that were taken of me in my cosplay.

Out for some fun at ECCC as RockStar Wonder Woman

Just hanging out with my friend Storm.

Heading out for my second day of Con

Hanging out with the captain at Comic book characters for causes booth.

Me and the awesome Apotheosis Cosplay.  I look awkward...

All the loot from this weekend!
This week it is back to the grind of finding work and going to the dentist.  Oh what a dull life I lead.  See you bots on Friday for a rant possibly on the PS4 vs. Xbox One.

Bitchin’ Friday: How To Pull Off An Event

Last night I attended Carol Corp Celebration thanks to my wonderful friend, which I totally owe her something Hello Kitty related.  The event was held at the Museum of Flight, a perfect place for this event, and it started at 7pm.  Over all it was a good event, but I found it lacking in the presenting department.  I’ve noticed a trend lately regarding nerd/geeky events be it lack of organization, venue, or something as simple as a brief presentation can hinder an event from becoming a great event.

Lets Start off with the obvious, Venue.  When picking a place for an anticipated large crowed, or even knowing that it is coinciding with a convention, you will need to rent out a large enough space for the maximum amount of people you believe will show. If you find that more people have shown up to the event than anticipated, then you need to limit how many people can go inside.  As soon as a group leave allow more people in.  People generally do not like to be squished in like sardines.  A flow of traffic between bar, food and other venders makes a more pleasurable experience.
Next is ORGANIZATION.  If you are even off your game by a little bit, the whole crowd will feel it. This boils down to timing, for example food being brought out or opening your doors on time and not having you guest wait 30 minutes in the cold, and checklists.   Checklists will keep your event going off without a hitch and makes sure that everything starts on time.
Finally Presentation.   This can something as simple as decorating the venue to fit in with the theme or have a brief speech to welcome your guests and thank the sponsors.  While this may seem to be the lesser of the three but it is the one that guests will first see and remember most of all.  This is where all your hard work has paid off and you see the fruits of your labor.

Hope this gives some assistance to any event coordinator out there next time they are planning an event.  What are your horror stores attending events, let me know in the comment section below.  This weekend is Emerald City Comic Con; I will be attending Saturday and Sunday as Wonder Woman (bombshell and rock star versions).  If you spot me come say hi take a picture.

Sewing,Sewing,Sewing

Good Monday to you little bots.  If you can't tell from the title I was working on cosplay all last week.  I have so much done I only have a few accessories to complet and style the wig.  I'm very excited to debute my cosplay at ECCC and for you lovely bots as well.  So here are some WIPs that I have taken of my progress:
And some makeup and contact test run.
So as a result of my progress, I went to my parents house this past weekend.  It had nothing to do with a doctors appointment or needing help with my straps for rock star Wonder Woman.
Hahaha....

This week I have one lady doctor appointment and a couple of networking events that I really should attend.  Also this week is Carol Corps on Thursday and the weekend is ECCC!  If you see me come say hi, I promise I won't bite...hard.

Bitch'n Friday's: Comic Book Characters For Causes

Good Friday morning little bots.  I completely forgot what day it is today and thus had to scramble to put something up for you all.   So i thought long and hard (like 2 minutes) and I thought I would give a shout out to my friends charity Comic Book Characters for Causes.
What CBCC is a Seattle based "charity" raising money for local children hospitals, camps, and American cancer society all for children dressed as comic book heroes, and some villains.   Why I put charity in quotes because they are still working on reviving there federal employer identification number which is used for tax purposes.  So if you donate to them as of now you cannot write it off in your taxes.  However I still highly encourage you to donate if you see them at one of their charity events or at a convention since every is volunteer and all the money goes to the children.
Their next event is Carol Corps Celebration at the Museum of Flight and also Emerald City Comic Con.  If you would like to go to Carol Corps click here for tickets:
And for more information on Comic Book Characters for Causes click here:

See you Monday for a weekly wrap up.

We Are the Champions!

Seahawks Won!!! While many of you may not care, I do and I’m loving it.  This has been 30+ years in the making, and about damn time.   Living in the city I thought there would be more rowdy fans charging up and down the streets, but for the most part there was little damage in the street of Seattle and where I live everyone quieted down around 11:30.
This past week was uneventful.  I returned home from California after my grandfather’s 100th birthday.  I had a final meeting with the director on the short documentary film I worked on and got paid.  Final I went to a supper bowl party held by a Broncos fan.  It was funny to watch the game with one broncos fan and the rest were Seahawks.  As true Seahawk fans, we were loud and proud.
This week, I am figuring out a couple of Party Wednesday themes for you bots.  Also I will be going to a giant game day/night were we all will be playing board games and magic!  To make up for the weird updates and lack of party blogs here is what I am planning on cosplaying   as for Emerald City Comic Con:

It’s Rock Wonder Woman by Charles Holbert Jr. and Bombshell Wonder Woman by Ant Lucia.
Catch you all Friday for a rant or something random blog.
