Dragon Age Inquisition: First Impressions

Happy Monday little bots. Hope you all stayed out of trouble this weekend. All I did last week was play about 25 hours worth of the new Bioware game Dragon Age Inquisition. I just wanted to briefly give you my thoughts, opinion, and issues that I have thus far with the game. Note I am no where near being done and playing on a console, I think I just got into act 2...this is going to be Skyrim for me all over again.

If you don’t know what the game is about well here is your synopsis:
Inquisition is the third installment of the Dragon Age series where it finally ties in the previous two games to give us a comprehensive story to this series. You play as a (human, elf, dwarf,or qunari) who is a (mage, warrior, or rouge) who attends the conclave to resolve the mage templar war/rebellion. Your Inquisitor stumbles out of the fade after an explosion wipes out the temple of Sacred Ashes, and he/she almost immediately falls unconscious with a green glowing mark on there hand. Soon after closing the main rift with your new glowing accessory the inquisition is formed to help close all the rifts and bring back peace and order to the world.

What I love:
This world is big, like Skyrim big. You can spend hours in one area completing side quests to help gain more perks for the inquisition. Every terrain is different, the dungeons are not repetitive (cough DA2) overall very beautiful to look at. It's also nice to encounter different types of enemy in different maps.

There is crafting items and upgrades allowing you to customize your inquisitor gear and your fellow companions gear as well. The combat controls for the console works well, the option to be tactful like a PC player is there but lets be honest I run and bash people without a thought.

I love the fact you can have your custom stories from the previous game imported into this game. Mind you you have to login or create an origins account and use there Dragon Age Keep website to be able to do this. But if you have never played the previous games before it is a great way to catch up on the story and make your game more customize to you. Thus far I am loving the story and all my inquisitors inner circle and counsel.

What I don’t like:
It seems every game released this year has had it's share of bugs, glitches, and unplayable options. Sadly this game is not the exception. I've encountered glitches with NPC characters where they have sunken into the ground while talking to them, magically fly across the screen to stand where they are suppose to, and of course this:

While the flailing arms and mid air is kinda funny it goes to show the games imperfections. While these glitches amusing there is one thing that I absolutely loath and I've so far have run into it twice. It is when your character is having a dialog cutscene and there is a long awkward pause in the middle of some one talking. The only fix is to skip that portion of the dialog to have it running again. The only problem with that is now may have missed something and now stuck with the speech text on the screen.

I am enjoying this game thus far and highly recommend it to anyone who love playing fantasy games. Even if you have not played the other two the Dragon Keep helps fill in the gaps. Have a great Thanksgiving little bots. I'll see you friday for my Thanksgiving bitch out time.

I'm In A Vlog!

Hi little bots, if you follow me on twitter you know that the new
Dragon Age game has taken over my life and being only 10 hours in I
still feel like I'm only I the beginning of the main story.  The areas
are huge and so diverse might do a review/impression on Monday since
that is all I've been doing this week.  To be honest I original wasn't
excited about the Inquisition game due to DA 2 being so awful.  But so
far so good.

To fill the void I was in the Impossible
Possible volg video that was filmed last week during the Women In Film
event.  I appear with Jamie from Impossible/Possible and Tracey from
Women In Film.  Check out the video below we appear 40 seconds in if you
want to jump to that part.

Have a great weekend and see you Monday for my thoughts and impression on Dragon Age Inquisition.

Early X-Mas Gifts and Plans

My aren’t you little bots looking so fancy toady. Had a good weekend? Happy that the holiday video games are out or coming out? I am!

This past week I saw the end result of Women In Film Event that I helped out on in the planing comity. I think it was a good experience, disappointed that I didn’t/couldn’t network with the attendees since I was working the front desk. How every I did prove myself as an asset due to the large number of people joining the WIF group that night.

On Thursday night I was going to see a Jazz group from New Orleans but when my friends and I got to the venue the had canceled for the night due to being stuck in Idaho. Curse you cold weather storm! The bright side was finding a scotch bar with over 100 types of scotch. I'm such a lush.

If you read my blog last Friday, you would know that I dropped out of the cosplay commercial thing. You can read about on the blog. Im still on the email chain and they have yet to release a location, time, and script for this project...which is to shoot this weekend...Sunday I believe.

This weekend I saw Interstellar at the Imax theater. Some people were complaining about the sound design and the mix being to loud, but I found the mix to be spot on as was the design. Maybe they watch the film in a bad theater with a poor speaker system. I truly enjoyed it not going to spoil it but make sure your theater has a good speaker system before you watch. So much space organism!

After the film my man surprised me by going to Macy's and buying me my christmas present. What is it you may ask, well I'm going to show you when it arrives to keep you in suspense. All I can tell you is that it was expensive and I've been wanting/needing it for the past 2 years.

Have a good week little bots, remember to plan out your Thanksgiving menu. I will be sharing my menu and taking pictures of my cooking/food for next weeks friday blog. See you Friday for a rant or something.

Bitch'n Friday: Organizing Events

Burr, I'm freezing my my butt off little bots. It's been in the low 30's at night all this week and the sun during the day does not p the temperature in the slightest. Any way the past couple days has been a whirl wind of dealing with bad organization to the point where I had to back out of one event due to my frustrating of poor communication and commitment.

With any event things sometimes are forgotten until the last minute, this happened to me this past tuesday on the day of the Women in Film event. Our head of organizing forgot all about the music and thus a last minute playlist was created by me to at the party. Lesson learned by me not to spend so much time working on a playlist since the venue used Pandora radio instead. Yeah I was a little butt hurt but I didn’t let it show and overall the event was a huge success.

The biggest pet peeve I do have is when there is no communication, planing, and just flying off the seat of your pants. If you read my last post I mentioned that I was going to do a commercial shoot for a video game for a friend of a friend. But with several weeks of no communication and moving dates back and no clear plan of what everyone is wearing or doing; I backed out of the project. Instinct is telling me that this project will go no where. Last I heard it was still going on next weekend with no tentative location and still no character sheets.

If you are throwing an event or film project at least have a plan 1 month out of your event date and inform everyone involved. Make a list, check it twice, and if you are in over your head ask for help to organize the thing. There is nothing worse than scrambling to get shit done the day of the event.

So that it for my ramblings, think I'm being to harsh or have your own horror story I would love to know about it in the comment section below. Have a good weekend little bots and I will see you Monday.

I'm Alive and Back!

If my little bots are still out there, thank you for sticking it out these past few weeks as I move and take care of family. I've been working to the bone packing, moving and putting everything away in our new bigger place. I was was going to write last monday, but I was sidelined to helping my mom out at her home while she recover from her face surgery. Regardless I will be going back to a regular schedule this week.

So some exciting news, I cant remember if I mentioned this before, but my man and I was recruited by a friend to be in a commercial for an up coming game. I'm playing the union boss and I'm supper excited to be part of it. We should be filming this weekend or next. Either way I need to get my look together.

In other good news the Women in Film Recruitment Event that I've been helping is finally here! Well tomorrow is the event, but I don’t have to call any more companies for a while. I hate cold calling people and companies but surprisingly I did get a couple of companies to send up stuff, so go me!

Other than helping out my mom and WIF I found some time to go out and have fun. I participated in the Geeks Who Drink Ghostbusters Event (my man and I dressed up as ghostbusters). I can proudly say out of 17 teams our team came in 5th! Go Ecto Coolers! We also went out to dinner with some there friends to Kingfish Cafe, best chicken in town! And finally I spent way more than I wanted at Lush on bath bombs. So far i've only used the sparkler (the long yellow stick in the pic below) and I loved the send and sparkles it left behind.

Thank you once again for sticking it out little bots, I've been a bad bad blogger. I don’t have anything coming up that would hinder me to not write here, but if I do please check twitter to check out why I cant write. Have a great week and see you Friday.
